Avuyonke Balfour

Avuyonke joined the Pharmacometrics group as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in April 2025. 

He holds a BSc and BSc Honours from Rhodes University and completed his MSc (Med) and PhD at the University of Cape Town, where his research focused on understanding host responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis using high-throughput immunology assays. 

His postdoctoral work involves population pharmacokinetic modelling of high-dose rifampicin in critically ill patients with HIV-associated TB.
