What does rifampicin pharmacokinetics in the cerebrospinal fluid and brain look like?

In this population pharmacokinetic model developed in South African children with tuberculous

meningitis (TBM), we describe the pharmacokinetics of rifampicin in both the lumbar and ventricular fluid, as well as provide proof-of-concept that rifampicin reaches the brain tissue. We also highlight the potential of microdialysis in furthering clinical research in TBM.
