Pneumonia is the leading infectious cause of mortality in sub-saharan africa in children. The PediCAP study  is investigating optimal

treatment for severe community-acquired pneumonia in children and is based in five African countries: South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Mozambique. Recruitment into the study has reached 2/3 of the target, which was not an easy feat, especially during and post-COVID. Our group has been working on setting up the pharmacokinetic arm of the PediCAP study.

More details on the study can be found here.
