We have new additions to the group!
Hylke Waalewijn joined us after completing his PhD studies at the University of Nijmegen, where he studied
The two new PhD students are Sharon Jepkorir Sawe and Mounier Almett. Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied statistics with computing from Moi University, Kenya and a Msc in Data Science with a specialization in Biostatistics from the African Centre of Excellence in Data Science, University of Rwanda. She will be working on establishing the efficacy and safety for a new treatment regimen for rifampicin resistant tuberculosis.
Mounier holds a Msc in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He will be working on simulating different dose-exposure scenarios, to harmonize the weight-band based dosing recommendation for children with different infectious diseases.
We also have two new MPhil students, Jenny van Dyk and Bonginkosi Ndzamba. They are currently doing their MPhils in Clinical Pharmacology at UCT and will be spending a year with us working on their individual projects.
We are very happy to have our new team members here and give them a warm welcome!
