Manna has received a best oral presentation award at the SASBCP conference!

The 55th Annual South African Society for Basic and Clinical Pharmacology Conference (SASBCP) 

was held virtually on October 12th, 2022. Manna presented under the clinical pharmacology category and won the best oral presentation award. Her project focused on the development of a population pharmacokinetic model for cefazolin used for antibiotic prophylaxis during paediatric cardiac surgery. Her data came from Red Cross Children’s Hospital, and she discussed applying the model to perform simulations to evaluate the standard dosing regimen used at the hospital. She also made recommendations for an alternate dosing regimen.
