Ms Atlegang Molope

PhD candidate

Ms Atlegang Molope is a zealous medical scientist motivated by a profound curiosity about the rapidly advancing field of health science. She holds an undergraduate degree in Human Genetics, where she developed a strong foundation in understanding how genetic variation influences diseases and informs personalized medicine. Her expertise were further expanded through Honours and Master's training in Medical Biochemistry, applying protein engineering and biotechnological approaches to develop recombinant immunotherapeutics for cancer treatment, with an emphasis on minimizing side effects and improving access in resource-limited settings.

Currently pursuing doctoral research in reproductive medicine with the HAMLET team, Atlegang integrates her interdisciplinary training to address a critical yet often overlooked challenge in women's health: Recurrent Pregnancy Loss. Through a careful exploration of the autoimmune mechanisms underlying this condition, her work seeks to translate scientific insight into meaningful advances in diagnosis, clinical management, and patient outcomes. Grounded in both scientific rigor and compassion, her research is deeply informed by the reality that many women long to become mothers. Through this work, she strives to advance medical understanding while offering hope and renewed reassurance to women facing repeated loss.
