Dr Sharon Officer is a senior haematopathologist currently working for the NHLS in the Department of Haematology at Groote Schuur Hospital. She completed her training at the University of the Witwatersrand and has many years of experience in diagnostic haematology and teaching and training of both postgraduate and undergraduate students.  Her main areas of expertise are in morphology and quality control. She is an active participant on the advisory committee for the NHLS morphology proficiency testing scheme, is an examiner for the CMSA and has a special interest in digital pathology.
