Ms Katleho Matlatse

Master's Candidate

Ms. Katleho Matlatse is a Masters candidate who is currently investigating The Immune Modulatory Effects of Kisspeptin on CD4+ T Helper 17 and T Regulatory Cells in Women with a History of Idiopathic Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL). Her research is dedicated to the investigation of idiopathic recurrent pregnancy loss at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town with a primary focus on understanding the role CD4+ T helper 17 and T Regulatory cells in pregnancies of women with RPL. In addition, her aim is to investigate the role of immune modulators such as kisspeptin on these cells in circulation and the placenta.
In pursuit of this goal, her research aims to achieve this goal by focusing on subjects including immune dysregulation's involvement in compromising maternal-fetal tolerance and the molecular mechanisms behind recurrent pregnancy losses
