This regional partnership aims to build capacity for the design and implementation of research for chronic cardiovascular diseases in Mozambique. The CHI research group Heart of Africa and the Mozambican Institute for Health Education and Research (MIHER) work on several collaborative research projects and initiatives through which the CHI links with the departments of the Eduardo Mondlane University (Maputo) and the Mozambique National Institute of Health Directorate of Non-Communicable Diseases.

- Advocacy film highlighting the issue of rheumatic heart disease in peripartum women: The Beat of Change: Rheumatic Heart Disease in Mozambique. Winner of the special prize for Health Equity in the World Health Organization (WHO) Health for All Film Festival 2020.
