Daniel Mutithu

CHI research group: Cardiac Imaging and Inflammation 

Daniel Mutithu is a PhD student at the department of Medicine at University of Cape Town being supervised by Prof Ntobeko Ntusi. Daniel is from Kenya and holds an MSc degree in Medical Biotechnology from Wageningen University, Netherlands. His current project is on discovering metabolic biomarkers in valvular heart diseases using metabolomics. He is a member of local and international societies i.e., Metabolomics South Africa Association and Metabolomics Society, respectively. He is interested in biomarker research to find diagnostic or prognostic targets especially in cardiovascular diseases using cutting edge technology (omics).
