Lauren is a consultant haematopathologist based at Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. She completed her postgraduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand and NHLS. She started as a consultant in the Department of Pathology, Division of Haematology at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and NHLS in June 2023.
Lauren engages in the day-to-day teaching and training of registrars specializing in the field of hematology, while also lecturing to undergraduate medical students at UCT. Her passion for hematology extends across various aspects, but she particularly enjoys flow cytometry.
