Dr du Toit is a Clinical Haematologist at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital since 1996. She is in charge of the Myeloma Clinic and is the consultant in Haemoglobinopathy Clinic and the Haemophilia Clinic.

Her interests include myeloma, stem cell transplantation and Haemophilia as well as undergraduate teaching.

She is a member of the South African Stem cell transplantation Society as well as the South African Clinical Haematology Society. In Haemophilia care she is a member of MASAC.
