Jenique Bailly is a Haematopathologist based at Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. She completed her postgraduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand and NHLS. In July 2019, she commenced her role as a consultant in the Department of Pathology, Division of Haematology at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and NHLS.
Jenique is skilled in laboratory quality assurance and diagnostic services, including morphology, flow cytometry, haemoglobinopathy testing, haemolytics, and coagulation. She actively engages in undergraduate teaching of medical students and provides postgraduate teaching and training for registrars specialising in Haematology Pathology and Clinical Haematology at UCT.
As a member of the NHLS, Project ECHO organising group, Jenique participates in weekly online teaching sessions for Haematology registrars, scientists, and technologists from different laboratories and training centres nationally. She is involved in departmental research and supervises MMed students. She has a particular interest in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis.
