Noninvasive Neuromodulatory Stimuli for Sensorimotor enhancement in neurological individuals.
A/Prof Amit Pujari is an award-winning Biomedical engineer and a neuroscientist primarily researching on developing rehabilitation and assistive technologies for people living with neurological disorders such as stroke, spinal injury and cerebral palsy among others.
To ensure the devices he develops satisfy the needs of the end users’, Amit works closely with patients, carers, clinicians and relevant industry. Amit’s focus is also on making the technology he develops to be low cost/affordable, especially for the use in ‘global south”, for this he collaborates extensively with researchers internationally. Through his above collaborations, Amit has extensive experience of working with a range of stakeholders crossing disciplinary and geographic boundaries.
A/Prof Amit Pujari’s research is currently funded by grants from EPSRC, NIHR, GCRF Funds/Academy of Medical Sciences and Royal Academy of Engineering. Amit is an outgoing RAEng/Leverhulme Trust research fellow and current RAEng Industrial Fellow. He was recently recognised as one of the 25 emerging research leaders in the UK healthcare by the Academy of Medical Sciences and is elected member of the UK Young Academy.
