Oloff Bergh Advert

Please join us this Friday, the 13th September where Oloff Bergh will present on
From Aristotle to AI: The Evolution and Future of Biomechanics
Biosketch:

Mr Oloff Bergh is a biomechanics specialist with a strong focus on computational biomechanics, currently serving as the Managing Analyst at the Neuromechanics Unit within Stellenbosch University’s Central Analytical Facilities. Oloff holds master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering (Injury Biomechanics) and Sport Science (Biomechanics) from Stellenbosch University, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Sport Science.

Oloff has been instrumental in supporting a wide range of research projects that bridge the fields of sport science, engineering, and medicine. His expertise lies in combining advanced computational tools such as MATLAB, Python, and OpenSim with components such as optical motion capture, inertial measurement units, surface electromyography and force plates, to analyse and model human movement.

At Stellenbosch University, Oloff is actively involved in research that leverages biomechanical systems to assess and improve functional outcomes in various applications. He has also played a key role in training and mentoring students and researchers, helping them develop the skills needed to succeed in the rapidly evolving field of biomechanics. Oloff's lab frequently collaborates with other leading facilities in the country, including the biomechanics labs at UCT, UP, and UJ, fostering a robust network of research and innovation, while always welcoming more opportunities for collaborative work.
