Lexie holds a BSc in Human Physiology, Genetics and Psychology from the University of Pretoria, an honours in Human Genetics from the University of the Witwatersrand and has recently submitted her MSc with the Ethics Lab where her research explored the ethical challenges and considerations of pangenomic data sharing for rare diseases research in South Africa. Her work engages with questions of equity, justice, and inclusion in genomic data governance. She is a genomics-trained researcher with a growing interest and commitment to contribute to global health ethics, policy, and governance particularly in African contexts.
