CHI research group: Partnerships for children with heart disease in Africa (PROTEA)
Timothy Spracklen is a research fellow in the PROTEA research group and South African Medical Research Council, supervised by Prof Liesl Zühlke. Through next-generation genomic techniques, we aim to better understand the role of genetics in congenital heart disease in African populations. Timothy is from Cape Town and completed his PhD in the Hatter Institute for Cardiovascular Research in Africa, UCT, where he learnt skills in genomics and in vivo modelling of cardiovascular disease.
