Shaazia Allie
CHI research group: Cardiac Disease in Maternity
Dr Shaazia Allie is a senior medical officer and lecturer. She completed her MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch. After graduating, she completed her internship and community service at Groote Schuur Hospital and with the military, respectively. Thereafter she worked in primary health care, in both the private and public sector for 5 years, and has since worked as a research medical officer and lecturer in the division of clinical pharmacology. She joined the Cape Heart Institute as a research officer in March 2024. She participates in research studies on cardiovascular disease, forming part of the Heart Disease in Africa and Cardiac Disease in Maternity research groups. She also continues to share her time working in the division of clinical pharmacology.
