Lwanda Buthelezi is a Master's candidate in the Division of Immunology at the Institute of Infectious Disease & Molecular Medicine (IDM), University of Cape Town. Her current research focuses on identifying the targets for host-directed drug therapy for tuberculosis. This includes the identification of host non-coding RNAs as host-directed drug therapy for tuberculosis. She is also interested in the current therapeutic uses of antisense technology and its possible applications in many other diseases. Lwanda Buthelezi is a final year MSc student in the Clinical Science and Immunology TB research group under the supervision of Prof. Reto Guler.
