Ms Brenda Adhiambo Odero

Brenda Adhiambo Odero is an award-winning Kenyan health research ethicist, an Honorary Research Fellow, and SARETI fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), and a reviewer of Strathmore University's Institutional Scientific and Ethics Review Committee. Her research is driven by a commitment to power and equity in health research and to enabling communities to have a genuine say in how research about them is designed and governed. Her other research interests focus on how AI and digital health tools, including those used in end-of-life care, are reshaping research ethics and on who those tools are built to serve. She holds an MSocSci in Health Research Ethics from UKZN, serves as Research and Governance Lead at the Africa Bioethics Network, and is a peer reviewer for the Africa Journal of Bioethics and the Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics.
