Meet Dr Phenyo Munyadziwa.

 

I’ve clocked into research as Medical Officer at Vuka Research. I hold an MBChB (UCT) and a Postgraduate Diploma in HIV & TB Management (UCT), and I am currently completing a Master of Public Health specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (UCT).

My passion lies in helping people. As a junior doctor, I realized that bedside medicine, while deeply meaningful, limits me to helping one patient at a time. This inspired me to pursue research and public health, where I can contribute to improving health outcomes on a much larger scale.

Both my research project and my current role At Vuka Research, gave me the opportunity to combine both aspects of medicine that I value most, direct patient care and impactful clinical research. It continues to reinforce my commitment to contributing to healthcare not only at the individual patient level, but also at population level through evidence-based research
