Welcome to new PhD students Juliet Nagawa and Dodzi Motchon
Juliet Nagawa and Dodzi Motchon joined the Mechanobiology Lab as PhD students in a UCT Three-way PhD Global Partnership Programme. Both will undertake their studies in computational modelling of biomaterial and cell therapies for myocardial infarction (heart attack). Juliet will focus on using clinical based models of the heart to investigate the prediction of treatment response in patients. Dodzi's research will be concerned on the mechanical conditions of cells that are delivered into the injured heart muscle. The programme is funded from the Dr Leopold and Carmen Ellinger Stiftung.
