Mr Sikelela Makonxa
Sikelela Makonxa is a second-year Bachelor of Social Sciences student at the University of Cape Town.
He currently serves as the 2024 Head of Global Surgery at the UCT Surgical Society. Alongside, he is part of the Research, Advocacy, and Implementation (RAI) Fellowship, directed by the UCT Global Surgery division, where he fulfills his interest in Global Surgery.
His passions include clinical medicine, global surgery, and political science. He aims to become a clinician-scientist, global surgeon, and social scientist in the near future. Through these channels, he aims to understand patients’ political and social contexts, affecting policymaking to improve healthcare systems and patient outcomes
