Medical Manager: Peri-Operative & Critical Care Services (Groote Schuur Hospital)

Shrikant graduated with an MBChB from UCT in 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts (in Politics, Philosophy & Economics) from UNISA in 2014. He completed an Internship at Addington Hospital Complex in Durban, Community Service at Eerste River Hospital in Cape Town, and served Medical Officer time in Hillbrow, Johannesburg. 

After enrolling in the Master of Public Health programme at UCT, he entered Registrar training in Public Health Medicine, gaining experience in health systems management and strategic planning, qualifying as a Specialist in Public Health Medicine in 2019. 

He is the Medical Manager of Main Theatre, ICU and Anaesthesia at Groote Schuur Hospital. In this role he is responsible for the operational and corporate functioning of the above services and has a particular interest in healthcare quality improvement.
