EPIC captures the key elements that facilitate professional transformation – it means a MAJOR /EPIC shift in how we think about shaping our practices so that they are relevant to populations who have been marginalised. It is a framework which I have seen students using to connect to their practices and research – this is very encouraging. It is a framework which is dynamic, adaptable and facilitates creative thinking across contexts.

EPIC is about you, it is about us – it is about all those things that make us human, together. EPIC is a reminder to fulfil our responsibility to practice our power for collective good.

We need to think creatively about how we work in ways that are relevant for our context and ways that redress of the inequities. EPIC provided me with a way of thinking about my work as a speech-language therapist that challenged the boundaries of our current practices. By this I mean I mean EPIC provided me with an alternative way of thinking of my work beyond what we currently do, allowing me to imagine new possibilities and avenues to explore.
