Social realism for health sciences research
Dr. Chrissie Boughey the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic & Student Affairs of Rhodes University and renowned scholar, visited the Department of Health Science Education on Thursday, 17 May and Friday, 18 May.
As part of the visit she presented a departmental seminar on methodological implications of Archer’s social realism: how structure and culture create conditions for agency where students can engage with her on social realism. This was followed by a Faculty seminar focusing on the broader relevance of social realism for health sciences educational research. Dr. Boughey’s seminars were enjoyed by all.
