World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day is celebrated globally on 4th February every year. As part of our contribution, the GCRC hosted a hybrid meeting on Friday, 10th February 2023 at the Neuroscience Institute, Groote Schuur Hospital. The theme for this year's World Cancer Day celebration was: “Global picture of prevention and treatment”.
Our research meeting was indeed an excellent opportunity for further research training and uptake on current issues related to cancer. Our program included speakers from Columbia University and NIH, USA , IARC/WHO, and SA MRC and the University of Cape Town. This meeting very well attended with over 120 online attendees and 50 in-person attendees.
