Mrs Kerene Payne

I am a Registered Nurse with a postgraduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine from UCT [2017]. I work with patients and families in the community as a palliative care community nurse. I also Co-ordinate and facilitate the "Introduction to Palliative Care" short course run by UCT/CEU, aimed at training health and counselling professionals in a basic understanding of Palliative care to equip them to better support their patients and families living with palliative care needs. I am interested in creating a stronger Palliative Care Nurse voice in the South African context and this is where my research interest currently lies.
