Ms Basutli Ramontshonyana

Basutli is a Research Officer at the University of Botswana (UB), where she coordinates the Biomedical Institutional Review Board and promotes ethical research practices both at UB and nationally. She is passionate about strengthening the effectiveness of IRBs, protecting human research participants, especially vulnerable populations and promoting informed consent and responsible data management. She has trained UB staff and postgraduate researchers, as well as Botswana Hospital-Based IRBs, contributing to national research ethics standards. Her work is guided by integrity, continuous learning, and a strong commitment to ethical research. Outside of work, Basutli enjoys family life, community volunteering, travelling to explore new cultures, and staying active through walking and jogging. She also values quiet “me time” to relax and recharge.
