Jade Mader is a Forensic Toxicologist in the Forensic Toxicology Unit (FTU) within the UCT Division of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and Western Cape Health Forensic Pathology Service. Jade completed a BSc degree in Medical Sciences, followed by a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Medical Criminalistics at the University of Pretoria, with a research focus in post mortem forensic toxicology. Following her MSc graduation, Jade worked as an analyst in the mass spectrometry unit at a clinical pathology laboratory, where after she joined the FTU team in July 2019. Her research interests include driving under the influence of drugs and analytical method development for drugs of abuse and pesticides. Jade is a member of the Toxicology Society of South Africa (TOXSA) and The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT).
