Prof Jantina de Vries

Jantina de Vries is the Director of the EthicsLab and Professor of Medicine at the University of Cape Town. Her early scholarship focused on the ethics of genomics research in Africa; she now explores the notion that ethics is political and preserves power and dominance in the world in particular ways. She is a member of the Ethics Committee of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders and the LMIC (low- and middle-income countries) Advisory Board of the Wellcome Trust.
