Dr Donna Andrews
Donna Andrews is Senior Researcher for the Global Health Solidarity Index Project at the EthicsLab, Department of Medicine, University of Cape Town (UCT). She is a political economist and holds an MA in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a PhD in Political Theory from UCT.
Her research and practice focus on the ethical dimensions of development, industrial policy, the pandemic-climate nexus, political economy of food, and socio-ecological justice in Africa and the Global South. She has coordinated several research projects that explore the intersection of ethics, sustainability, third world debt, as well as questions of trade related to food and health systems. She is an Associate Fellow of the Transnational Institute (TNI), a member of the Permanent Peoples' Tribunal, and sits on the board of Third World Network-Africa.
