CHED hosts global collaborators on higher education and the public good
UCT's Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED) hosted colleagues from universities in the UK, USA and South Africa to take forward their project focusing on higher education and the public good.
The two-day project meeting, held on UCT's upper campus on 7 and 8 February, is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in the UK and the National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa. The collaboration brings together academics in the higher education expertise arena from various universities including, Lancaster, UCL, Harvard, Rhodes and UCT.
A project member, Dr Janja Komljenovic, a research associate in the Centre for Global Higher Education (CGHE) at Lancaster University, presented a public seminar "Making Higher Education Markets" which focussed on the ways in which markets are created in the higher education sector.
