Dr Sue Jessop is a part-time consultant and lecturer in the Division of Dermatology at Groote Schuur Hospital and has worked for the Provincial Govt since qualifying at UCT.

In 1969, she co-founded the Lupus Clinic as an undergraduate student, and she has enjoyed an interest in the connective tissue disorders throughout her working life. Her other major professional interests have been in evidence – based medicine, (she was an editor of the Cochrane Skin Group) and in medical education.

In the field of education, she continues to be greatly rewarded by her work with primary care health practitioners, as co-convenor of a short course in management of skin disorders for community nurses and doctors. In the Division of Dermatology, Sue has played a key role in curriculum development and continues to teach and supervise both undergraduates and postgraduates.
