Our latest article, “Pharmacokinetic modelling as a tool to assess TB treatment adherence: application to the REMEMBER study”, is now available online in IJTLD Open (doi:10.5588/ijtldopen.25.0467).

Adherence to medication remains one of the most significant challenges in TB prevention and treatment. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, we propose leveraging pharmacometrics to establish personalised drug concentration thresholds for adherence assessment — accounting for individual patient factors.

We applied this framework to investigate medication adherence in the REMEMBER (A5274) clinical trial, which evaluated TB preventive treatment regimens.

Importantly, this approach extends beyond TB drugs and holds potential for a wide range of medications, including antiretroviral therapy, making it a broadly relevant tool in clinical pharmacology.
