It was a productive November for our team!

The Union World Conference on Lung Health 2024

From the 12th to the 16th, our team had the privilege of attending the Union World Conference on Lung Health 2024 in Bali, Indonesia. This event was a collaboration of global experts and researchers to discuss the latest advancements in lung health, with a strong focus on tuberculosis (TB).

Our team was well-represented at the symposium Paediatric TB drug dosing: Using state-of-the-art modelling to bridge principles to practice. Professor Paolo Denti and PhD candidate Lufina Tsilizani Galileya delivered talks on model-based approaches to optimise dosing strategies, highlighting their practical application in TB treatment.

The 6th Tuberculous Meningitis International Consortium Meeting 2024

In addition to the Union conference, Jose also presented at the 6th Tuberculous Meningitis International Consortium Meeting 2024, held the weekend prior (November 9th–11th). He presented two oral talks:

  • The cerebrospinal fluid penetration of cycloserine, clofazimine, and isoniazid
  • The effect of rifampicin on the pharmacokinetics of dexamethasone in tuberculosis meningitis patients.

Participation in these global forums reflects of our team’s dedication to advancing TB research and improving outcomes for patients worldwide. We extend our heartful congratulations to our students and researchers for their exceptional work and impactful presentations.

You all deserve a huge round of applause!
