The University of Cape Town invites you to an inaugural lecture by Professor Lebogang Ramma.

Topic: "Bending the arc towards health equity "

Throughout her career, Susan Cleary has been absorbed by the concept of health equity: what does it mean, how can it be measured, and most importantly, how can greater levels of health equity be achieved in a country like South Africa, given devastating levels of income inequality? In her inaugural lecture, she will reflect on the academic and policy contributions that she has made in this terrain, touching on key successes in the early days of HIV-treatment and ongoing challenges in the areas of universal health coverage and National Health Insurance. She will conclude with a vision towards health equity for the second half of her career.
