We are proud to celebrate Dr Roger Dickerson, Senior Lecturer in our Division, who was awarded the prestigious Order of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (FIFEM) in 2023.

The Order of IFEM recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional and continuous commitment to advancing emergency medicine nationally and internationally.

Dr Dickerson’s contributions span leadership roles across South African and international emergency medicine organizations, significant academic mentorship, extensive examination leadership within the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, and advocacy for strengthening emergency care systems in underdeveloped environments.

His career exemplifies excellence in emergency medicine and critical care, and his dedication to service, education, and leadership continues to inspire future generations of emergency care providers.
