We are proud to share that Associate Professor Clint Hendrikse has been appointed as the Deputy Editor of the Journal of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (JCMSA), a DHET-accredited, peer-reviewed diamond open-access journal supported by the CMSA. Established in 2023 and included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) within its first year, JCMSA is committed to showcasing rigorous scholarship from across the African continent and beyond, with a focus on specialist clinical practice, research, and professional development.

Hendrikse plays a key role in both editorial leadership and strategic initiatives—most notably spearheading the journal’s Author Assist Programme, which provides mentorship to early-career authors and emerging researchers navigating the academic publication process. His appointment reflects his ongoing contribution to academic development, health systems strengthening, and advancing the voice of emergency care in the scientific literature.

The journal is currently pursuing PubMed Central indexing and continues to grow in submissions and international visibility, supported by a broad editorial team representing all 29 CMSA Colleges.
