The Division of Disability Studies (DDS) recently welcomed colleagues from UNISA as part of a benchmarking visit focused on Disability Inclusive Development and opportunities for future collaboration between the two institutions. The visit included discussions with Professor Dikeledi Mahlo and her team from UNISA’s Department of Inclusive Education. Professor Mahlo leads the DHET and UCDP-funded project, Improving Resilience and Promoting Retention of Students with Disabilities at UNISA (2024–2026), which aims to strengthen support systems and improve student success for students with disabilities. We look forward to continued knowledge sharing and collaboration in advancing disability inclusion in higher education.
