Ophthalmic Nurses Celebrate International Glaucoma Day
On 13 March 2026, the Ophthalmic Nursing team proudly joined the global community in observing International Glaucoma Day, raising awareness about this leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide.
The team hosted educational activities, patient information sessions, and awareness initiatives aimed at highlighting the importance of early detection, regular eye screenings, and timely treatment for glaucoma. Through interactive displays, informational materials, and direct engagement with patients and colleagues, the ophthalmic nurses emphasised that “Glaucoma is the silent thief of sight” and encouraged proactive eye health practices.
Their active participation underscores the department’s commitment to community outreach, preventive eye care, and advancing ophthalmic nursing excellence. By shining a spotlight on glaucoma, the team helped empower individuals to take charge of their vision health.
Well done to all the ophthalmic nurses involved — thank you for your dedication to eye health awareness! 🌍👁️
