Looking at the Future of Health Professions Education – SAAHE Conference 2026
Our team members, Faatima Ebrahim and Ilana Webber, joined colleagues from across the country to explore the theme: Unravelling the Future of Health Professions Education at the Southern African Association of Health Educationalists - SAAHE Conference that took place in Stellenbosch from 30 June – 3 July 2026.
The conference featured a dynamic programme with five parallel tracks, offering delegates a diverse range of presentations, workshops and discussions. It brought together inspiring educators, united by a shared commitment to excellence in education and passion in developing students, not just transferring knowledge.
Throughout the conference, there was a strong focus on developing students as capable, compassionate professionals, fostering their critical thinking, lifelong learning, and personal growth with the belief that student-centred education will ultimately align them for patient-centred care.
Faatima Ebrahim presented our teaching work on the Master's programme on ‘Supporting Clinicians' Transition to Research-Active Practitioners’ and Ilana Webber presented her poster: ‘Beyond the Marks: Implementing a Narrative Feedback Only Assessment Approach in Online Paediatric Short Courses’.
A big thank you to Ilana and Faatima for representing our team at the conference. Creating future-ready graduates is at the heart of what we do at CNDU and our commitment to prepare nursing professionals for an evolving healthcare landscape has been renewed!
