Dr Liezl Schlebusch receives the Leclezio-de Vries Lecture Award for Community-Engaged Research!
TAND Consortium member Liezl Schlebusch received the Leclezio-de Vries Lecture Award for Community-Engaged Research at the recent Society for the Study of Behavioural Phenotypes (SSBP) Research Symposium in Edinburgh, Scotland in September 2026. This award recognises research that meaningfully engages communities in the research process, an approach that has been central to the TANDem-2 project.
Her lecture was entitled: Strengthening caregiver wellbeing in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex: Participatory adaptation and pilot testing of the Well-Beans for Caregivers Programme, in which she described the collaborative methods to adapt the programme for the TSC community and exciting results of the intervention pilot.
Congratulations Liezl, on this wonderful recognition and for continuing to promote community-engaged research within TSC and TAND!
